The Oakland Raiders bugaboo over the past few seasons has been their inability to play consistent defense against the pass. In recent years, the organization has gone out and tried to find fixes for the issue, whether it was paying big money to Sean Smith at cornerback, or spending high draft picks on defensive backs. This season, the defensive backfield has an opportunity to actually be a strength, but they will need the services of their 2017 second round pick if it is to become reality.
During the 2017 NFL Draft, the Raiders spent their second round pick on UConn safety Obi Melifonwu.
