OAKLAND -- NFL Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott is leading a team of mostly black investors trying to keep the Raiders in Oakland.
The investment group, which includes another former Raider, ex-NFL quarterback Rodney Peete, has met with nearly every Oakland council member in recent weeks, but is still a long way from getting a deal done on a new stadium for the team in Oakland.Raiders owner Mark Davis, frustrated in his ability to to replace the aging Oakland Coliseum, has said he will move the franchise to Las Vegas if funding for a new stadium project is approved.
