Ken Norton Jr likes his former players. He just added another one by signing free agent safety Taylor Mays according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Norton Jr was Mays' defensive coordinator at USC. Mays was chosen in the second round of the 2010 draft by the 49ers and lasted just one season in San Francisco before being shipped to Cincinnati in exchange for a seventh round pick.
The 6-3, 230-pound safety played four seasons with the Bengals, starting just four games over that time. He appeared in 16 games last season, but started none.
