Marshawn Lynch is reportedly saving Scend’s Restaurant in Emeryville from closure.

The Raiders running back is buying the beloved soul-food restaurant and bar, according to KTVU, since the owner is retiring. Cassie Nickelson has reportedly known Lynch since he was 9 years old, when he would get food from the catering business she ran out of her Oakland apartment.

“I’m comfortable with him and I like him,” Nickelson told KTVU. “When he was 9-years-old, he came across the street to get a hamburger and French fries — 25-cent French fries and a 75-cent hamburger.”

Nickelson’s restaurant is located at San Pablo Avenue on the Oakland-Emeryville city line and is rated four stars on Yelp (from 200-plus reviews).
