The Raiders reportedly hired Brian Callahan as quarterbacks coach.
The last name should sound familiar. Former Raiders head coach Bill Callahan’s son will work specifically with Oakland's signal callers, TheMMQB.com reported on Friday afternoon.
The Raiders did not immediately announce the hire.
This legacy hire joins a staff with three prominent coaches starting their second stint in Silver and Black. Head coach Jon Gruden (1998-2001) and offensive coordinator Greg Olson (2013-14) assume previously held posts on this staff.
Those two and Callahan will be hands on with Derek Carr, Connor Cook and other passers added to the roster.
