Report: Antonio Brown sought social media advice to hasten Raiders release

New England Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown solicited advice and ideas from social media consultants to try to hasten being cut by the Oakland Raiders, according to a report from ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Brown was cut by the Raiders on Saturday and hours later was signed by the Patriots, prompting some in the football world to wonder if the Pro Bowl wide receiver's drama with the Raiders was a ploy to get out of his contract so he could sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers' AFC North rival. The Steelers refused to send Brown to any AFC North team after he requested to be traded from the team that drafted him in 2010, though the Patriots were interested in negotiating a trade for him.
