Days days after going head-to-head in an NFL draft coin flip, the 49ers and Raiders are reportedly competing again for even bigger stakes.
Both teams are reportedly the finalists in a battle to sign highly coveted Rams cornerback Trumaine Johnson, the top-rated free agent at his position. The Jets, according to ESPN, trail both the 49ers and Raiders in the chase for Johnson.
The 49ers, who have a whopping $56 million-plus in cap space, are said to have the edge over the Raiders, according to Tony Pauline of DraftAnalyst.com.
But one advantage the Raiders have is the 28-year-old Stockton native grew up as a Raiders fan.
