Raiders ‘working on’ Geno Smith extension, per coach and GM

Pete Carroll and John Spytek have had a busy first offseason as the new head coach and general manager of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Since arriving in January, the new regime has tackled several major issues as they aim for a quick turnaround for the Raiders. Few, if any, moves have done more to make that goal a reality than when the Raiders traded for quarterback Geno Smith from the Seattle Seahawks. Acquiring Smith gives Carroll and Spytek a quarterback to build around in 2025, giving them some time to put together a long-term battle plan.

However, it sounds as though the plan is to keep Smith in Las Vegas beyond this season.
