Rams running back Todd Gurley and quarterback Jared Goff will be really fresh when they line up against the Raiders in the season opener on Monday, Sept. 10.
In a bit of an unusual tactic, Gurley, the reigning AP Offensive Player of the Year, won't play at all during the ongoing preseason. Goff, the 2017 No. 1 overall pick, hasn't played yet and Rams head coach Sean McVay doesn't know if the second-year quarterback will suit up against the Texans or Saints.
If neither play this preseason, their first live game action would come against the Raiders in Week 1 of the regular season.
