Last week in Miami Marquel Lee saw twice as many snaps (28) as Derrick Johnson (14) on defense. It was the first time this season Lee had seen the field more than Johnson. And it turned out to be the start of something.
Against the Browns, Lee got the start and saw 65 snaps (79%) to Johnson’s 22. That’s nearly three times as many snaps for Lee.
“Marquel Lee is playing pretty good for us. He’s earning the right to play,” Gruden said Monday.
