ALAMEDA — The Raiders unveiled their sparkly new 18,500 square foot performance center on Wednesday, a state of the art building designed to maximize efficiency.
The expedited construction lasted 100 days and opened to the players on Tuesday, featuring four times the amount of equipment of the Raiders’ old weight room.
“It honestly exceeded what we wanted,” Raiders head strength and conditioning coach Joe Gomes said. “Time is probably our most precious commodity here with the guys so we wanted to make sure we had the space and the equipment to efficiently manage the guys’ time.”
Gomes spearheaded the planning of the facility, which includes a mini artificial turf field that has a big screen television on the wall in front of it to allow players to visualize plays.
