Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Raiders are trying to re-sign impending free agent ILB Perry Riley.
According to Tafur, the Raiders are prepared to allow ILB Malcolm Smith to reach the open market, so it appears their focus is on extending Riley before the start of free agency.
Riley, 28, is a former fourth-round pick of the Redskins back in 2010. He was in the final year of his three-year, $13 million contract and set to make a $4 million base salary in 2016 when the Redskins cut him loose in the final week of the preseason.
