Over the past couple weeks we’ve heard of the Raiders entering discussions about playing their 2019 season in locations across California and even in London. Now Oakland gets its discussion as the team is set to meet with the Coliseum Authority.
“Yes, there still is a possibility that an agreement can be reached, (I’m) not sure what the odds are, but still possible,” Scott McKibben, executive director of the Coliseum Authority, told the Mercury News.
That meeting will take place this Friday according to Vic Tafur of The Athletic.
There were reports the Raiders had discussions with the City of San Diego about playing at Qualcomm Stadium as well as London though and a recent report from CBS Sports said San Diego was now considered “remote” and London was “untenable”, narrowing the options to one of three locations in the Bay Area — Levi’s Stadium where the 49ers play, Oracle Park where the Giants play, and returning to Oakland Coliseum for their final season before leaving for Las Vegas in 2020.
