Two games with Matt McCrane was enough for the Raiders. The undrafted rookie kicker went 5 for 9, missing both attempts outside 50 yards and his longest made field goal from 44 yards out. That’s pretty bad, so over the bye week, the Raiders made the change.
They had added fifth round rookie (167 overall) Daniel Carlson.
The 6-foot-5 (!), 213-pounder was drafted in the fifth round out of Auburn last April this year by the Minnesota Vikings.
He is a three-time All-American honoree by the Walter Camp Football Foundation and 2-time SEC Special Teams Player of the Year while also garnering second-team All-American honors by the Associated Press (2016-17).
