Raiders special teams: Daniel Carlson, AJ Cole trudge along in yet another defeat

Points come at premium for the Las Vegas Raiders.

Four games into Scott Turner reign as interim offensive coordinator — along with his father Norv being a senior advisor helping him along — the Silver & Black scored a total of 68 points. That’s an average of 17 points per game in that string since Turner took over as play caller for former offensive coordinator Luke Getsy.

Turner’s predecessor orchestrated an offense that totaled 148 points in nine games for an average of 16.4 points per contest. Improvement — marginal — but better nonetheless.

Still, the lack of points in either play caller’s tenure — the highest output under Turner is 19; 26 for Getsy — means kicker Daniel Carlson and his special teams tag team partner AJ Cole III trudge along.
