In the discussion last week of which Raiders receivers would emerge in the absence of Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper, tight end Clive Walford wasn’t mentioned much.
But Walford, the Raiders’ least-used tight end this season, wound up playing his most snaps in his most productive game of the season in Oakland’s 24-17 win over the Giants. Walford had four catches for 57 yards, trailing only Cordarrelle Patterson (97) in yardage among the Raiders.
Walford entered Sunday with two catches for 10 yards on the year. A larger factor in Oakland’s passing game the last two years, Walford has seen his targets decrease with the arrival of Jared Cook.
