OAKLAND – Raiders safety Charles Woodson was determined to play Sunday against Baltimore. Suiting up a week after dislocating his right shoulder shows toughness in itself. Playing most every snap isn’t something else altogether.
That’s what Woodson managed to do in a 37-33 victory over the Ravens. Woodson played deep a free safety after playing strong safety with Nate Allen in the lineup. The 38-year old adjusted his tackling methods and missed a few without proper strength in his shoulder, but Woodson fought through and helped a thin group of safeties.
According to the official NFL game book, Woodson played 99 percent of the Raiders’ 82 defensive snaps.
