At the beginning of the offseason, the Oakland Raiders made sure the cornerback group would look very different in 2018. First, they released David Amerson, and quickly followed that up by giving Sean Smith and his monster contract a pink slip.
After T.J. Carrie left for Cleveland, the group was stripped to the bone, leaving 2017 first round pick Gareon Conley as one of the last men standing. Conley battled an injury to his shin all last season, but appears ready to get the green light to be a full participant this summer.
In a move that did not make a lot of waves, the Raiders signing Indianapolis Colts cornerback Rashaan Melvin to a one-year deal.
