The Raiders announced Tuesday they’ve signed wide receiver Devon Wylie, a former fourth-round pick of the Chiefs, and waived Austin Willis.
Wylie, who played at Fresno State, has experience as a punt and kick returner and it seems likely that’s where the Raiders will view him. Trindon Holliday muffed the only kick return attempt he had in Friday’s exhibition game and the team could use some competition in that role. Holliday did have a 22-yard punt return.
Wylie has averaged 20.4 yards on his 14 career kick returns and just 4.3 yards on his seven career punt returns, but did have two punt return touchdowns in college.
