The Oakland Raiders have signed safety Taylor Mays for the third time in less than two months.
Oakland brought back the veteran backup Tuesday as they officially put defensive end Justin Tuck on the injured reserve. Tuck, a starter who has 14 tackles, was injured in the fourth quarter of a 16-10 loss to Denver in Week 5. He had surgery on Friday. Rookie Mario Edwards and Benson Mayowa will play more in Tuck’s absence.
Mays was signed right before the regular season but was released at the cut deadline.
