The Raiders announced Wednesday they’ve signed free agent safety Taylor Mays.
Mays will be reunited with Raiders defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr., who coached Mays at USC. The 49ers drafted Mays in the second round in 2010 and his started six games that season.
He was a disappointment in San Francisco and was traded shortly before the start of the 2011 season for a seventh-round pick. He’s started just four games since his rookie year and was mostly a special teams player for the Cincinnati Bengals last year.
This offseason alone, Mays has been signed and released by the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions.
