ALAMEDA — In the wake of injuries to safety Karl Joseph and slot corner Lamarcus Joyner, the Raiders signed veteran safety D.J. Swearinger to a contract Saturday and also announced the addition of defensive end Dion Jordan.
The Raiders and Swearinger reportedly agreed to terms Friday once the club learned of the severity of Joseph’s foot injury sustained on his game-ending interception in a 26-24 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The Raiders have also been thin at defensive end following the loss of Arden Key to a broken foot and Josh Mauro to a groin injury.
Joseph was placed on injured reserve, ending his season, and the Raiders also waived linebacker Quintin Poling, who was promoted from the practice squad for the Chargers game and played on special teams.
