ALAMEDA — The Raiders have signed former Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Demetrius McCray, Element Sports Group announced Tuesday afternoon.
Oakland had an open spot on its 53-man roster after defensive tackle Darius Latham was suspended four games Monday for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. McCray fills that with the Raiders’ cornerbacks banged up and struggling.
Both Gareon Conley (shin) and David Amerson (concussion) didn’t play in Sunday’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens, and Sean Smith continued his poor play in the 30-17 defeat. Antonio Hamilton also got injured on a kickoff and left the locker room on crutches after the game.
