Raiders should focus on Calais Campbell, Dont'a Hightower in free agency

Here are the moves the Oakland Raiders should consider when free agency opens at 4 p.m. ET Thursday:

Get their in-house finances in order. The Raiders are expected to have just under $43 million in cap space, but their most important moves may be in taking care of their dual faces of the franchise first, before quarterback Derek Carr and NFL Defensive Player of the Year Khalil Mack enter the final year of their rookie contracts. Should general manager Reggie McKenzie work his numbers and get both signed to extensions -- plus, Oakland also has 13 unrestricted free agents on which to make decisions -- the Raiders would then know how freely they can spend on other pieces to add to a team seemingly ready to make that next step toward Super Bowl contention.
