There’s nothing quite like a good scare to get the blood flowing, the senses sharpened, and the trousers stained.
In other words, Jack Del Rio is reliving the end of last season and he isn’t happy about it.
In fairness, Derek Carr’s back injury is not considered nearly as serious as last year’s broken leg. The Oakland Raider quarterback is considered good to go this Sunday against the scuffling Baltimore Ravens, but it’s early yet, and injury news on Monday can often be something entirely different by Friday.
But we’ll know if things are worse than first reported if Del Rio becomes angry, impatient and sour, since that’s how he handled last year’s injury.
