NAPA — Shilique Calhoun’s path to his third NFL preseason has been, well, interesting.
That’s the word Jon Gruden used Monday for the 2016 third-round pick whose career has gone like this with the Raiders: Injured reserve, practice squad, cut, re-signed to the practice squad, elevated to the 53-man roster and now re-signed for his third season with the silver and black.
Calhoun has played in only 19 games during his career with minimal impact. This year he’s a fringe roster guy that probably has an equal chance of making the 53-man squad as he does getting cut.
