ALAMEDA, Calif. -- The Oakland Raiders have secured land on a 55-acre parcel outside of Las Vegas on which to build their practice facility and headquarters before the team’s move to Nevada in 2020.
The Henderson City Council on Tuesday night unanimously approved the sale of the land, which is near the Henderson Executive Airport, about 12 miles southeast of where the domed stadium will go up, to the Raiders, with the transaction costing $6.05 million.
“The Raiders would like to thank Mayor (Debra) March, the Henderson City Council, City Manager Bob Murnane and City Attorney Josh Reid for welcoming the Silver and Black to this wonderful community,” Raiders president Marc Badain said in a statement.
