Sebastian Janikowski’s contract impasse with the Raiders will not keep him out of Sunday’s season opener at Tennessee — but his back problems could.
Janikowski and the Raiders resolved their contract differences Wednesday night, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Janikowski, who has been with Oakland since 2000, previously declined the team’s request to restructure his deal. It remains unclear whether he ultimately agreed to any revisions; he was scheduled to earn $4.05 million this season.
Earlier on Wednesday, head coach Jack Del Rio suggested the Raiders brought in three kickers for auditions this week simply as “due diligence,” given concern about Janikowski’s physical condition.
