ALAMEDA, Calif. – All-Pro defensive end/outside linebacker Khalil Mack did not have a sack or a quarterback hit while getting seven tackles in the Oakland Raiders’ 35-34 season-opening victory at the New Orleans Saints last weekend.
Bruce Irvin, signed to be Mack’s quarterback-terrorizing bookend at outside linebacker, had one tackle after his strip-sack of Drew Brees on the third play of the game. Irvin responded by challenging the interior of the Raiders’ defense.
“It’s been like that the last three weeks,” Irvin said, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
