Raiders safety Taylor Mays has made most of 3rd chance in Oakland

Taylor Mays was cut by the Raiders before the season, Sept. 5, re-signed Sept. 14, cut again Oct. 10 and brought back 10 days later.

Nothing personal, strictly business.

“I didn’t take anything from being cut,” the safety said. “I just took that it was a business. Being cut by here wasn’t the worst thing that’s happened to me since I’ve been in the NFL.”

Mays, a second-round pick by the 49ers in 2010, has been traded, cut four times and been with five teams. Three of those were in the past nine months, as the Vikings signed him in March and cut him in June, and then he got some practice gear from the Lions the next two months.
