Raiders’ sack-master Mack works on his craft endlessly

Khalil Mack’s first sack came in the fifth grade.

“I was a defensive tackle in Pee Wee and beating the guy in front of me pretty bad,” Mack said. “I loved football. Played fullback then and kickoff returner, too. But I was best at chasing the quarterback.”

He’s gotten better at it.

Mack became the 14th player in NFL history to have five sacks in a game last Sunday in Denver, and veteran teammates Charles Woodson and Justin Tuck are comparing the Raiders’ defensive end to Hall of Famer Derrick Thomas.
