ALAMEDA, Calif. -- Oakland Raiders backup right tackle Austin Howard, who missed the season opener with a sprained right ankle, practiced all week but was not given an official game status designation for Sunday’s home opener against the Atlanta Falcons on Friday.
Raiders coach Jack Del Rio said, “He’s ready to go.”
Expect Howard to start at right tackle for a dinged-up Oakland offensive line. Starting right tackle Menelilk Watson (groin) and backup Matt McCants (left knee) both came out of the game at the New Orleans Saints and neither practiced this week.
