Raiders report card: This season just keeps getting worse

OAKLAND — Woof.

If you thought the Raiders’ defense couldn’t get any worse, boy were you wrong.

A 42-28 loss to the Colts, featuring a third fourth-quarter collapse of the season that turned a lead into a loss, helped stoop the Raiders’ season to a new low ahead of a Thursday night date with the 1-7 49ers.

Let’s have a look at this week’s report card. Brace your eyes. It might be ugly in some spots.

Passing game: A-

  • Derek Carr completed 21-of-28 passes for 244 yards and three touchdowns without throwing an interception
  • Sunday was only the second time this season Carr threw for more than one touchdown in a game
  • Brandon LaFell caught three passes for 39 yards and a touchdown in his first snaps with the Raiders
  • Seth Roberts and Jared Cook also caught touchdowns of 25 or more yards
  • Carr wasn’t sacked a game after taking six sacks, and he looked composed in the pocket all afternoon
Derek Carr played arguably his best game of the season against the Colts.
