The Oakland Raiders officially released veteran DT Dan Williams on Tuesday.
Williams, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2010. He played out his rookie contract with Arizona before signing a four-year, $25 million contract that included $15 million guaranteed with the Raiders back in 2015.
Williams was set to make a base salary of $4.35 million for the 2017 season.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Williams will free up $4.5 million of available cap space while creating no dead money.
In 2016, Williams appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders and recorded 17 tackles, a half sack and a pass defense.
