Raiders release LB Derrick Johnson

Related Topics: Derrick Johnson, Seattle

Today the Raiders announced that they have released veteran middle linebacker Derrick Johnson after six games with the team. Johnson was brought over as a free agent from the Chiefs, and is Kansas City's all time leading tackler.

However, Johnson's playing time has dwindled and Marquel Lee has become the more prominent linebacker in the middle. Johnson played about a quarter of the snaps against Seattle in London.

LB Jason Cabinda has been brought up from the practice squad in a corresponding move.
