Per an announcement made by the team, the Oakland Raiders have released defensive tackle Dan Williams.
The move comes as no surprise, as Williams entered the 2016 season out of shape, and he played like that for much of the season. He struggled to even come close to the impact he had the year prior, and with a $4.5 million cap hit for the 2017 season, this seems like it an easy decision.
Releasing Williams will also cost Reggie McKenzie zero dead money, which is always a good thing when releasing players.
Williams played in all 32 games in his two seasons in Oakland.
