Raiders release Brandon Marshall with rookie Isaiah Johnson coming off IR

After re-signing with the team last week due to his familiarity with the defense, the team kept him inactive for Sunday’s game against the Lions and announced Monday that he had been released.

In his place, Oakland is bringing rookie fourth-round pick Isaiah Johnson into the fray, as he was designated for return from injured reserve and is now healthy enough to contribute.

Johnson has been out since Week 1 of the preseason after suffering a concussion and facial fracture. With the Raiders needing to add another CB to an underwhelming rotation of Trayvon Mullen, Daryl Worley and Nevin Lawson.
