ALAMEDA, Calif. -- Two days after releasing safety Nate Allen in what was seen as a cost-cutting move, the Oakland Raiders re-signed him to what is likely a more salary-cap-friendly deal.
Allen, who signed a four-year, $23 million free-agent contract last spring, would have been guaranteed a $4.9 million salary for the 2016 season if he were still on the Raiders roster on Wednesday.
Terms of his new contract were not disclosed.
