SAN FRANCISCO – The Raiders have brought back cornerback Chimdi Chekwa. The Ohio State product said on Tuesday that he has signed a contract to return to the team he spent parts of four seasons representing.
Chekwa was not given a restricted free-agent contract tender by the Raiders earlier this offseason, and was swooped up by the New England Patriots.
He was released on Monday after two months with that club, and the Raiders snatched him up a day later.
Chekwa adds experience and depth to their young secondary, and could be a solid addition alongside D.
