The Oakland Raiders announced that they’ve promoted RB Elijah Hood to their active roster on Wednesday.
This makes sense considering that they will be without RB Marshawn Lynch this week while he serves his one-game suspension for making contact with an official.
Hood, 21, was taken in the seventh round of this year’s NFL draft by the Raiders. Unfortunately, he was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason and was later signed to the practice squad a few days later.
During his college career at UNC, Hood rushed for 2,580 yards on 430 carries (6 YPC) to go along with 40 receptions for 211 yards receiving and 29 total touchdowns over the course of 33 games.
