The Raiders’ waning postseason hopes officially flickered out Sunday, in what felt like a foregone conclusion for a 6-8 team.
Entering the day, according to FiveThirtyEight.com, the Raiders needed the outcomes of three games to go their way just to stay alive until Monday. The Chiefs’ win over the Dolphins officially eliminated the Raiders from playoff contention, along with clinching the AFC West for Kansas City.
The Raiders will play Monday night at Philadelphia, on Dec. 31 at the Chargers, and then enter the offseason needing to address issues that led to their slide from a 12-win season in 2016.
