ALAMEDA — So maybe the Raiders aren’t quite ready to unleash the Todd Downing offense on the rest of the NFL.
“A little bit of Memorial Day hangover if you will,” Downing said with a smile Tuesday after a less than stellar day for the offense as the Raiders began their second week of organized team activities. “Certainly we need to iron out a couple of things and get some rough patches out.”
Issues included dropped passes and interceptions by Kenneth Durden (against E.J. Manuel) and David Amerson (against Derek Carr).
The football was on the ground far too often for anyone’s liking, including Downing, who took over for Bill Musgrave after coaching quarterbacks for the past two years.
