Today was the day for teams to decide whether to pick up the 5th year options on players from the 2013 draft. For the Raiders, that was 12th overall pick DJ Hayden, who the team has elected not to exercise that fifth year option according to multiple reports, while several other teams have announced they will be picking up fifth year options on their 2013 first rounders.
What this means is following the 2016 season, Hayden's contract will be up and he will become an unrestricted free agent at that time, if not sooner if he is released.
