Less than 24 hours after their huge road victory in Pittsburgh, the Las Vegas Raiders made a roster transaction. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Raiders are cutting veteran cornerback, Nevin Lawson.
The move comes the day after Lawson’s two-game suspension was up and comes as no surprise. Rookie Nate Hobbs put together a strong training camp was one of the most impressive players during the preseason games, league-wide, not just for Las Vegas.
Hobbs took command of the nickel corner spot, Lawson’s primary position, and earned the starting job, while the eight-year veteran didn’t look sharp during his preseason performances.
