ALAMEDA — How much does Corey Liuget have left?
The Raiders are in the process of finding out. Liuget thinks he knows.
A torn quad landed Liuget on injured reserve with the Los Angeles Chargers. It was his first serious injury in eight years.
“That was probably the most challenging thing I’ve ever dealt with,” Liuget said Monday. “I’ve never had an injury like that, just little minor nicks and nacks. It was an emotional roller coaster. But I’m back and I’m happy. I’m in rare form now.”
Liuget, 29, is part of the Raiders’ plan to apply pressure up the middle, which in theory will cause a ripple effect throughout the defense that will result in a quantum leap from their abysmal 13-sack total in 2018.
