The Raiders only ran the ball 16 times in Sunday’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals and coach Jack Del Rio wants to see that number rise.
“I’d like to see it go up,” Del Rio said. “But we have to earn that. Convert some on third downs, have more possessions. I don’t feel like we totally abandoned it, but I don’t feel like we effectively did what we set out to do.”
Latavius Murray was relatively effective with 11 carries for 44 yards, but with the Raiders down 24-0 by halftime, the ground game was non-existent with just three second-half run plays.
