ALAMEDA _ With their off-season program beginning Monday, the Raiders announced they had retained the services of nine players whose contracts had expired but were not eligible for unrestricted free agency.
Quarterback Matt McGloin, cornerback Neiko Thorpe and guard/tackle Matt McCants were retained, with both McGloin and Thorpe reportedly receiving second-round tenders which increased their respective salaries to $2.553 million.
Exclusive rights free agents who return include defensive end Denico Autry, slot receiver Seth Roberts, defensive end Shelby Harris, safety Tevin McDonald and linebacker Korey Toomer.
Autry and Roberts in particular were finds for the Raiders last season and whose contributions were substantial for players originally brought aboard as street free agents.
