ALAMEDA — Defensive end Khalil Mack was conspicuous by his absence during team drills Wednesday as the Raiders ramped up preparations for the regular season opener against the Tennessee Titans.
Mack went through stretching exercises without shoulder pads or a helmet and did not take part in position group drills with what was officially listed as a knee injury.
The NFL’s reigning defensive player of the year also missed a handful of practices during training camp, but that was with a biceps injury.
Coach Jack Del Rio’s media availability came before practice, and he wouldn’t have likely expanded on Mack’s condition even if given the chance.
