Raiders slot cornerback LaMarcus Joyner was declared inactive Sunday against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium, meaning the veteran free agent acquisition will miss his second consecutive game.
Joyner didn’t practice until Friday and was limited and coach Jon Gruden was hopeful while realizing Joyner may not play. It didn’t help matters that the weather in New Jersey is cold and rainy — not exactly conducive to playing with an iffy hamstring.
With Joyner out, Nevin Lawson will likely get the most work at slot corner, as he has the last two weeks. Darryl Worley can also play inside, which would free up additional snaps for rookie corner Isaiah Johnson.
