DENVER — Derek Carr was certain that Hunter Renfrow had won his matchup Sunday and was in position to catch a game-winning two-point conversion.
Shelby Harris, a former Raider foiled the play by batting down Carr’s pass and preserving a 16-15 win for the host Denver Broncos.
And Renfrow isn’t the type to take credit for something that didn’t happen.
“I’d like to think (I was open),” Renfrow said. “I dropped a pass earlier. It’s a team sport and that’s football.
Renfrow, a fifth-round selection from Clemson, and Maxx Crosby, the fourth round pick out of Eastern Michigan, have been draft bargains that have exceeded all expectations in a class that could be the backbone of the Raiders for the next several years.
